Why lysosomes digest the whole cell when it is damaged? or why the damaged cell needs to be removed?

Lysosomes are a kind of waste disposal system of the cell. Lysosomes help to keep the cell clean by digesting any foreign materials like bacteria or food  as well as worn out cell organells end up with the lysosomes which break up into small pieces.these are able to do this because they contain digestive enzymes capable for breaking down all organic material.During the disturbunce in celluar metabolism for eg when a cell is damaged lysosomes may burst and enzymes digest their own cell.therefore lysosomes are also called sucide bags of the cell
