The density of the magnetic field lines indicates the strength of magnetic field at that position. The magnetic is stronger at the poles as compared to that at the center of it. Hence they are denser at the poles

The magnetic force or attraction is is greater where the field lines are crowded. Since all the magnetic field lines generate from the poles, the crowd of field lines is maximum near pole.
