keep an iron nail...near the magnet.... just near it....not in contact......
you will see that the nail gets attracted towards magnet....
that means the force was acting on nail even when it was not in contact.......
that's it

Anonymous: hmmm..... listen...
Anonymous: or read
Anonymous: whatever
Anonymous: see.... magnet is producing some fields
Anonymous: nd' as iron is a ferromagnetic material
Anonymous: that field rearrange the domains of iron....
Anonymous: nd' that's why iron too Start generating fields......nd' gets attracted to magnet
Anonymous: but you can see that for rearranging the domains......no contact was needed
Anonymous: it happened because of non contact magnetic force
Anonymous: maybe...... now you have a better idea regarding this!!!

hey friend

Magnetic forces are non contact forces; they pull or push on objects without touching them. Magnets are only attracted to a few 'magnetic' metals and not all matter. Magnets are attracted to and repel other magnets.
