I think so this is also one reason why Mahatma Gandhi's photo is printed in our Indian currency.
Because he was our Father of Nation and struggled for Independence from the British by Ahimsa.
He never had any political background and supported and loved even the common people.
This is why his series of currency was published in 1996
so that no one fights with the sake of politics in the currency.
