Why malayalam and not bengali is a classical language?

Malayalam was identified as classical language in 2013,
following criteria to determine the eligibility of language to be considered for classification as “classical language”: Highantiquity of its early texts/ recorded history over a period of 1500-2000 years.
marathi , gujrati and bengali language's not have such a past history, there was 1000 to 1200 years old available manuscript and stone carvings. but no 1500 to 2000 year old.
