The male partner is responsible to determine the sex of child because the chromosomes present in the mail is X and Y which is different but the chromosome found in the female is only X type .
when the chromosome type X and Y combines then boy child is reproduced while when XX type chromosome is combined and girl child is reproduced .

In human being their is 46 chromosomes or we can say 23 pair of chromosome.In this 2 pair are called sex chromoses .

In male these pair are XY and in female XX . As female ovum has only X chromosome and male has both XandY .

so ; when the fertilization takes place there is either X or Y chromosome of male sperm fuse with X chromosome of female ovum .

If X chromosome of male fuse with X chromosome of female then it form baby girl.but if Y chromosome of male fuse with X chromosome of female ten it form baby boy.
