why matter is considered a compound and hydrogen as an element? give two reasons.

matter is considered a compound because it is made up of two or more elements.
hydrogen is an element because all the atoms are of same type.
hydrogen is the simplest element known till now it can not be broken into more simple form.

matter may consists more than two elements..its a compound.. its simple that a compound is formed by more than two elements.. where as hydrogen is a single element.. hope u understood this..
