why Maxwell's discovery that light was an electromagnetic wave is so important?

because this discovery of Maxwell leads to understand the nature of light more accurately after that only Einstein discover that light travels like bullets which is known as photons.this discovery leads the development of quantaum physics and all principals of Relativity is based on electromagnetic theory published by Maxwell James Clark.
