Why melting point depends upon number of unpaired electrons?

melting point depends on the metallic bonding.The stronger the metallic bonding the higher the melting point.The metallic bonding depends on the number of unpaired electron.The more the unpaired electron the higher the bonding.For ex in the transition element the melting point increases due to increse in unpaired electron.which then decreases due to pairing of electron thereafter
