Why mercury is used in thermometer instaed if water?

because it has higher limits(boiling point)

it does not stick to the glass of the test tube

due to its color is easier to read the temperature reading

it is used because it is a metal which was present in liquid state at room temperature, and it rises when temperature is increasing...
