Vacuoles causes hindrance in cell division as it is full of cell sap to provide turgidity and rigidity to the cell. ... Vacuoles causes hindrance in cell division as it is full of cell sap to provide turgidity and rigidity to the cell. Also vacuoles basically serve the purpose of storing of nutrients, excess salts etc. Meristematic cells do not need to store these nutrients as they have compact shape.
