Answer:

Metals form positive ions because metals are very electropositive, and their outer electrons are very loosely bunded on them. so, that they lose electrons and gain a positive charge and hence from positive ions.

Hope it helps

Answer:

  • metals have positive charge on them because they lose electrons to complete their octet which means the valence shell that is the outermost shell has 8 electrons.
  • most metals have either 1 or 2 or 3 electrons in their outermost shell in a neutral atom for eg Na has 1 electron in its Valence shell so to have stable electronic configuration sodium loses this 1 electron because it is easier to lose than gain 7 electrons so sodium now has 8 electrons in Valence shell.
  • so when any atom loses an electron or electrons they have a positive charge and they become cation like in above example Na becomes Na+ after losing one electron...
  • metals are electropositive also so it is easier for them to lose electrons .
