why metal sulphides occur mainly in rocks but metal halides occur mostly in Sea and lake waters​

Because most of the metal sulphides are insoluble in water whereas metal halides are generally away with rain or river water in dissolved state and so the halides ores occur in lakes and seas. - Metal sulphides are mostly insoluble in water and thus when present in rocks they aren't washed away.

Because halides tend to be soluble in water and so have dissolved out of the rocks and into the lakes/seas over time. Though, of course, as the seas evaporate and recede there can be enormous deposits of these halides as solids again e.g. the enormous underground deposits of Rock Salt in Cheshire and in Poland.

Sulphides on the other hand tend to be very insoluble and remain in the rocks.
