why metalloids are used as semi conductors?

because metalloids are neither poor nor good conductors.

Metalloids play an important role in our everyday lives. Electricity and heat can travel through metalloids but not as easily as in true metels. This is why metalloids are often called semiconductors, particularly Germanium, and silicon......i hope it helps you
