metals are good conductors bcz .. in the electronic configuration the valence shell has 1,2,3e- present ., and therefore the e- are free to flow , and can conduct electricity ..
However, the electrons in the non-metals are tightly bound to their atoms and are not free to flow. This makes non-metals poor conductor of electricity
