Mediterranean lands are also known as orchard lands. Most citrus fruits are actually native of Mediterranean type areas. They do have a wide variety of fruits and their wines are equally popular.

Mediterranean climate is not extreme and is quite moderate as it lies in Sub-Tropics. Fruits, especially citrus ones needs sunshine for a fairly long time. Long summer of Mediterranean areas favours the growth of these fruits.

Citrus fruits grows very well in tropics as they need adequate moisture, temperature and soil for their growth. Mediterranean areas also enjoys a mild and moist winter season hence, the crops need not get spoiled due to influence of winters as, they are sensitive towards low temperatures.

Hence, Mediterranean climate is most appropriate for grwoth of citrus fruits.
