Why might an organism not respond immediately to minor changes in the internal or external environment. Explain with reference to homeostasis.

Answer:

It is due to the presence of the plasma membrane of the cell that maintains homeostasis i.e constant internal organisation.As it is selectively permeable so it takes time to respond to the environment.
