Milk is 87% water and 13% of fats and proteins. The protein called casein that is present in the milk is responsible for imparting white colour. As we know the colour of a substance is determined by the light reflected by it. The casein and some fats that are dissolved in milk reflect all the colours of the light back instead of absorbing them. The mixture of all colours is white which reaches to our eyes and milk appears white to us.
