Mitochondria is an elongated, rod shape organelle that is found in cells of animals and plants and is also known as powerhouse of the cell. Plastids are double membrane bounded organelle found in plants, bacteria and fungi and function in photosynthesis. These two organelles have following similarities:
1. They have double membrane around them.
2. They contain double stranded DNA.
3. They help in generation of ATP by the electron transport chain mechanism.
