Why mn 2+ is much more resistant than fe 2+ towards oxidation?

Answer:

since Fe+2 = (Ar) 3d6 and has 4 unpaired electrons . and after losing one more electron by oxidation it will have 3d5 configuration and will have half filled orbital stability.

but Mn+2 = (Ar) 3d4 and after losing one more electron it will remain unstable as well.

Hence for gaining more stability. More will be the reactivity towards oxidation.
