A representative democracy is form of government in which representatives are elected to make policy while representing the citizens .All modern democracy are representative , not direct , democracies . A representative democracy is also known as republic.

Every individual may not have the required time,knowledge and interest to discuss regarding the development of the country
It is physically impossible for everyone to sit and discuss(cause we are a highly populated country)
