After the 2014 elections Narendra Modi had all the convenience,the resources and the majority with him. He has largely been incompetent in utilizing these assets for the cause of development which was the driving force of his campaign.
The disastrous demonetisation caused huge job losses in the informal sector,slowing of gdp growth and other adverse effects. It turned out to be ineffective in targeting black money,terrorism and other multiple and ever changing claimed benefits of the drastic step. This was followed by the botched implementation of the Goods and Services Tax.
Despite all the hype,Modi has performed poorly when it comes to foreign policy. The poor handling of Jammu & Kashmir,issues with Pakistan and China,the Nepal blockade which resulted in anti-India sentiments across the border,all underscore the NDA govt's incompetence in the foreign policy.
