Why molecular nitrogen is not particularly reactive?

Nitrogen gas is formed when two nitrogen atoms bond together. Together they form a triple bond. The triple bonds together have a very high bond enthalpy(energy needed to break bonds).

The strength of the nitrogen-nitrogen triple bond makes the N2 molecule very unreactive because it requires a huge amount of energy to break the bonds. Since chemical reactions occur readily when old bonds break to form new and stronger bonds, nitrogen does not react readily as its bonds are strong making it stable.

Molecular nitrogen is not particularly reactive because there is a triple covalent bond between the two atoms of nitrogen element which makes it not particularly reactive.
