Why monodentate ligands do not show optical isomerism?

For tetrahedral molecules, the molecule is chiral if all four substituents are different.Therefore for 4-coordinated carbon atoms which are tetrahedral having four "ligands" actually establishes optical activity. ... Basically in short ,the reason it does noshow optical isomerism is because of planarsymmetry.
