The sun pulls on the moon with a force that is more than twice the magnitude of the force with which the earth attracts the moon.

Hello buddy:-):-)
Why does the moon revolve around the earth??
*The moon revolves around earth because of earth’s stronger gravity.

Some astronomers consider that the moon and earth are a dual planet system. The plane of the moon’s orbit is very close to the plane of the earth’s orbit around the sun. The moon always keeps its ‘face’ to the the earth, but to the sun it has its own rotation; so we have ‘phases’ of the moon. We also have tides which are the effect of the moon’s gravity on the earth.

Especially unique is the moon’s relative size to the sun. They are the same. One would almost think the the setup was intentional. The current belief is that the moon was once much closer to earth. Tides must have been awesome.*

We are just living at a time when the apparent size of sun and moon are equal.

Hope this is helpful.......
