More and more countries wanted to be developed because they don't want to live in fear of dictatorship. The citizens want to express their opinion freely, which is only possible in a democracy
The citizens are in favor of deciding their own future by appointing other chosen leaders. Citizens wanted the equal status politically and legally and want to play an active part in making the constitution of the country.
