A dry cloth (or the surface to be cleaned), and a wet cloth seems rather than the dust somehow being wicked into the rag particles adhere more easily to, say, the fibers in a cloth.

______HERE'S UR ANS____

More particles of sand stick to a wet clothes rather than a dry clothes because wet cloth has both adhesive and cohesive property .so it sticks with wet cloth.
