Mire serious burn are caused by steam at 100° C than water at the same temp . This us because steam has latent heat inside it . As water gets converted into heat then the energy required to convert liquid ( water ) into steam is hidden as the form of heat energy , and due to this it causes severe burns in comparison to water at same temp .
