Burns caused by steam are more serious and severe than those, caused by water at 100° Celcius. Why?

Steam has more energy than water, at 100°C. Steam contains additional latent heat of vaporization which was utilised to convert the liquid into gas or steam. So, it causes more serious burns than the burns, caused by water at 100°C.

Hope it helps✌️
