why more than three bonds are not exist in covalent compound??

in a covalent bond which has mainly carbon and also other elements but carbon is the main one and has valency 4 so it would share only 4 electrons thus if you take each bond as a combination of 1 electrons from carbon and 1 from any other element or again carbon therefore 4 bonds mean 4electrons +4 electrons = 8 electrons which fulfills octet .the same is shown in the picture because every element want to attain octet. these gives the answer why there are 4 bonds now
