The female anopheles mosquito when bites a person who is suffering from malaria , sucks the blood then acquires the malarial parasite called plasmodium and when this female notes another person the parasite is transferred to the healthy person.hence mosquito is called vector.

A vector is something that transmitts an microbe or disease antigen to a organism.
We often listen that, Malaria is caused by mosquitoes. But Actually, It is caused by Plasmodium vivax.
Mosquito transmit the Plasmodium vivax to the human body causing malaria. Here, Mosquito bites the human and Plasmodium is injected to blood.
As Mosquito directly doesn't cause the disease, but transmits it. So, It is called a Vector of Malaria.
