Alkali metals are in the first group and have valency 1. Therefore they can donate 1 electron and gain a positive charge. This makes the alkali metals electropositive.

Answer:

Alkali metals are strongly electropositive in nature due to low ionisation enthalpy. Electropositive character increases down the group due to decrease in ionisation energy.
