Why most of the crops are sown in the months of June - July in the Indian desert-Thar?

Crops are classified as kharif crops and rabi crops. Kharif crops are sown in the month of June/July and harvested in September/October every year.

Rabi crops are sown in the months of October/November and harvested in March/April every year.
