Why most of the peninsular rivers drain into the Bay of Bengal? Also give the example of two rivers falling into the Bay of Bengal.

Most of the Peninsular Rivers drain into the Bay of Bengal because:

1. The Eastern Ghats are lower than the Western Ghats and moreover the Eastern Ghats are discontinuous providing the rivers an easy passage to the Bay of Bengal.

2. The Deccan Plateau slopes towards the east.

The Mahanadi, the Godavari, the Krishna and the Kaveri are good examples of rivers draining into the Bay of Bengal.
