Most of the penninsular rivers are east flowing as they drain the Deccan Plateau ,they orignate in the Westeren Ghatas ,flow twowards the east and enter the Bay of Bengal. The rivers are Godavari, Mahanadi, Krishna and Kaveri and build deltas near the coast
