Why mostly male suffer from colour blindness??

vinaymenon007: Because females have a lot of cones in their retina which helps them to see more colours.... Whereas cones are not present much in the retina of the eye of a male

It is sex-linked: genetic red–green color blindness affects males much more often than females, because the genes for the red and green color receptors are located on the X chromosome, of which males have only one and females have two.

Hey friend !!

Here is your answer..

Mostly male suffer from colour blindness because the genes important for the most common inherited color blindness are on the X chromosome.

Since female has a pair of X chromosomes, the chances for color blindness is less as compared to males.
