MOUNTAINS ACT AS BARRIERS.

WHEN STRONG MOISTURE CARYING WINDS HIT THE SURFACE OF MOUNTAINS, THEY TEND TO CREATE HIGH LEVELS OF RAINFALL IN THE REGIONS AROUND THE MOUNTAIN.
