why multicellular organism required special organs for exchange of gases between their bodies and their environment?

please answer fastly I have urgent

The oxygen demand of multicellular organisms is high and they need special organs to meet this requirement. The other method wold be diffusion but that would take a very long time(3 years for a molecule of oxygen to reach from our lungs to toe). So, to satisfy their need for oxygen there are special organs in multicellular organisms.
