See according universal law of gravitation all objects attract each other by a force called gravitation and it is directly proportional to the masses of the objects and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

Therefore, let M and m be the masses of the object.

d be the distance between them.

so, F ∝Mm/d^2

or F=GMm/d^2.

(u have taken = so for proportionality constant u have to use G, u could have taken any but G is the universal gravitational constant so u have to take G).
