Why Mumbai recevies more amount of rainfall than Pune despite of having less distance among them ?

Mumbai receives more amount of rainfall than Pune because Mumbai has the geographical advantages of being on windward & at coastal line of sea.so wind brings more rain toward Mumbai than Pune. As pune has barrier by Western Ghats. Which shielded the pune. Therefore less rain over there despite of having less distance among them.
