Hi,

Here is your answer

The atomic number of nitrogen is 7

The electronic configuration of Nitrogen is

1s²2s²2p³

The 2p orbital of nitrogen is half filled which is highly stable. Hence, the nitrogen atom will show relectance to give away the valence electron as it results in unstability of the atom and high energy is needed to remove it. Therefore nitrogen has high ionisation enthalpy.

Note:

Ionisation enthalpy is defined as the energy required to remove the outermost electron from an atom.

Hope this helps you.
