n2 fixation is result of the symbiosis between cyanobacteria and roots of cycas tree as cyanobacteria does the nitrogen fixation and gives to cycas in return of fixed carbon and a good support of cycas roots. as cyanobacteria is a type of bacteria and it takes fixed carbon from cycas and fixation nitrogen it is heterotrophic
