The process of purification by crystallization is to prepare saturated solution by heating solvent with sufficient amount if solute and it is further cooled to obtain cristalls of desired substance.

However this process is well applicable for solute which has difference in solubility at boiling point and freezing point. But in case of NaCl their is nothing much difference in solubility at boiling point and freezing point.
