Why NaCl gives white ppt with AgNO3 Sol. but not CCl4 ?

CCl4 is covalent compound therefor do not have any ion.but AgNO3 is ionic compound and has a Ag+ and NO3- ion in aq solution NaCl is also a ionic compound and hence AgNO3 +NaCl----AgCl +NaNO3
