why NaCl seems yellow on heating

Answer:

Nacl turns yellow when heated in presence of Na . It is due to non stoichiometric effect of sodium. That is called as metal excess defect of sodium. Actually in sodium chloride crystal sodium and chloride are in a balanced state.
