As the farmers from Bangladesh who left their farm lands as they couldn't survive over there due to flood and other factors which affected their farming they moved in to Seemapuri they have no job so they started rag picking as the days passed it became their full-time job. As all the people who have moved from Bangladesh, settled over there and did the same job as the days passed they found this job to be more productive than their farming hence they continued rag picking. which resulted in settling of more that 30k rag pickers because of which Seemapuri got the name of rag picking ( I'm not sure about the numerical value)
