Why neutral wire is at 0 voltage. Please explain in a simple wording.

The neutral wire is connected to the ground rod at the breaker panel, so it only has “voltage to ground” when a load (light or motor, etc.) is connected (switched on). If everything is connected properly the neutral has almost no voltage to ground because the electrons already have a path of least resistance.
