HELLO THERE!

Nitric acid is a strong mineral acid, which shows all properties of a strong acid, except the property of replacing Hydrogen gas from dilute acids.

When concentrated nitric acid falls on our skin, it reacts with the protein of our skin, forming Xanthroproteic acid, which is yellow in colour.

Hence, our skin turns yellow.

HNO₃ is a strong acid, so it is used along with HCl to make Aqua regia, a strong solution which dissolves even inert substances like gold, silver, platinum, etc, forming their soluble chlorides.

HOPE IT IS CLEAR...

Thanks!
