Why nitro benzene donot give friedel craft reactions?

Answer: In Friedal Craft reaction Anhy. AlCl₃/Anhy FeBr₃  is used which is a luis acid and NO₂(Nitro) in benzene is basic so they both react with each other and Thus, It does not give Friedal Craft Reaction.

Answer:

It is due to the presence of nitro groups. It is strong electron acceptor group. So an electrophile like Ch3+(alkyl group) cannot attack nitro benzene by aromatic electophic substitution mechanism.

That's why it cannot react in friedel craft alkylation
