Answer: In Friedal Craft reaction Anhy. AlCl₃/Anhy FeBr₃ is used which is a luis acid and NO₂(Nitro) in benzene is basic so they both react with each other and Thus, It does not give Friedal Craft Reaction.

Answer:
It is due to the presence of nitro groups. It is strong electron acceptor group. So an electrophile like Ch3+(alkyl group) cannot attack nitro benzene by aromatic electophic substitution mechanism.
That's why it cannot react in friedel craft alkylation
Hope it helps you
