Atoms do not exist independently and that led to the creation of the universe!

But the question is why so. Well there are some atoms which do exist freely known as Noble gases (Noble as they do not react).

Other Atoms are not considered to be stable as they do not have 8 electrons in their outermost shell..

Hence, to attain this octet structure atoms react with other atoms and forms molecules, compounds , substances and the matter.

Just imagine if atoms would not combine we would never get water (H2O), oxygen (O2) and n2 . Would we survive?

You are made up of atoms combined with each other .. Its cool group of atoms learning about group of atoms ;)
